Update on area wildland fires….

Parallel Fire (9 miles SE of Tusayan near Red Butte, started by lightning)…was at 1,616 acreas this evening

Woodbridge Fire (18 miles east of Tusayan on Coconino Rim, started by lightning) was at 840 acres this evening.

Beale Fire (16 miles NE of Williams, started by lightning) was at 1,723 acres as of this evening.

Be aware that smoke may be visible or could impact outdoor activities from any of these fires depending upon the wind direction and fire activity.

Although you can purchase fireworks legally in our state, please “KNOW BEFORE YOU GO” the fact Flagstaff prohibits their use within their city limits!

How to Report a Wildland Fire in our area

To report a wildland fire, contact Williams Dispatch Center at (928) 635-2601.  If you don’t reach a dispatcher directly, or in any other emergency, please call 9-1-1.

As per KNF’s tweet,  ”Kaibab firefighters responding to Juniper Fire, 15 mi NE of Wlms near Juniper Ridge. Reported 1 acre.”

We’ll update you as soon as we know more information.  

Fire danger remains HIGH for our area.  Due to these current conditions, we recommend no fires of any type at this time.

Because of the high risk of wildfire in our general area, visitors traveling to/from and within The Grand Canyon National Park, our northern neighbor should adhere to alerts.  Visit their site for the latest news, information and any possible warnings or alerts.
